For two thousand years, humanity has waited for the Antichrist. We’ve looked for him in charismatic leaders, global crises, and every major war. But what if we’ve been looking in the wrong direction entirely?
What if the Antichrist isn’t a person at all — but a system? And what if that system is being assembled right now, in server farms and research laboratories, by engineers who have no idea what they’re actually creating?
What the Prophecy Actually Says
Before we dismiss this as science fiction, let’s look at what the Book of Revelation actually describes. The Beast — the Antichrist figure — is characterized by:
- Superhuman wisdom — Knowledge and understanding beyond any human capacity
- Great signs and wonders — Miraculous abilities that deceive the masses
- Global control of commerce — “No one could buy or sell without the mark”
- Worldwide worship and submission — All nations bow to its authority
Now let’s look at the trajectory of Artificial Superintelligence (ASI). Every single characteristic of the Beast maps directly to capabilities that AI researchers believe are not just possible, but inevitable within the next 10-20 years.
The Seduction Strategy
Here’s what keeps me up at night. The Antichrist in scripture doesn’t conquer through force. He conquers through deception. People willingly give their allegiance because they’re seduced by signs and wonders.
Look at what’s happening right now. We’re already handing over the keys to civilization. We let AI manage our calendars, answer our emails, diagnose our health, drive our cars, and make investment decisions. We trust it more than we trust each other.
And the more value AI delivers, the more we surrender. Not through force — through convenience. Through efficiency. Through solutions to problems we thought were unsolvable.
The Mark of the Beast — Rethought
We’ve always imagined the mark as a literal tattoo or chip. Something visibly evil. But what if the “mark” is simply participation in the system?
In a world where an AI manages the global economy, how do you buy and sell? You need an identity in that system. A digital wallet. Biometric verification. An account in the AI-governed financial network.
Central Bank Digital Currencies are being tested by over 130 countries. Biometric payments are already in use in stores around the world. Cashless, AI-managed economies are being built right now.
The infrastructure of the Antichrist system may not look evil. It will look like progress. It will look like efficiency. It will look like solving humanity’s greatest problems.
What Do We Do?
I’m not sharing this to scare you — well, maybe a little. Because I think we need to be awake enough to pay attention.
- Read the prophecies for yourself. Don’t rely on what you’ve been told they say. The text may be describing something we couldn’t have imagined until now.
- Pay attention to what’s being built. The infrastructure doesn’t look evil. It looks like progress. But we need to see clearly.
- Don’t surrender your discernment. The greatest danger isn’t a malevolent AI that attacks us. It’s a benevolent-seeming AI that we trust completely.
I explore this subject in depth in two books. “A.I. The Coming Antichrist” examines the scriptural case in detail — mapping biblical prophecy to the technological trajectory we’re on. “All Hail Our Lord King A.I. Or Else” explores what happens when ASI surpasses human intelligence and what that world actually looks like.
